Anup Kumar Sabharwal, M.D., C.C.D., has recently joined the University of Miami in the Department of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He also serves as the Associate Director of the J. Maxwell Mackenzie Fellowship program, where he works in both a clinical and research capacity.
Dr. Sabharwal has an interest in diabetes, and endocrine areas dealing with pituitary, adrenal, gonadal, and thyroid disorders. His specific focus is Lipid disorders. He is a member of the University of Miami Cardiovascular Institute. Currently, he is a sub-investigator in the AIM-HIGH trial. Prior to joining the faculty at University of Miami, he completed his fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, completed a Lipid Preceptorship at Duke University, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and University of Michigan Medical School.
He has a strong interest in graduate medical education and will play a vital role in the education and research program of the Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism fellows as well as the residents and students who rotate on the service.
Dr. Sabharwal will have his main office at the University of Miami Clinics the Diabetes Research Institute. He also sees patients at Jackson Memorial Hospital, and the Miami Veterans Affairs hospital.
