Armando Mendez, Ph.D., is a Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Mendez’s research interests are primarily focused on understanding pathways and mechanisms of intracellular and extracellular lipid metabolism and transport related to the development of artherosclerosis and to lipid and lipoprotein abnormalities that occur as a consequence of diabetes.
He has authored numerous scientific papers in both lipid metabolism and diabetes, and has been a reviewer for journals in these areas for many years.
