The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) develops and facilitates the distribution of its specialized cell processing equipment to researchers throughout the world.

In addition to the Ricordi Chamber -- the technology used to separate the insulin-producing islet cells from a donor pancreas --  equipment for islet  preservation and shipping, islet perfusion, donor bone marrow processing and other devices are also available.

This equipment is manufactured by DRI Foundation board member and engineer Ramon Poo, who works together with Dr. Camillo Ricordi and other DRI scientists to develop these research instruments.

Mr. Poo has standardized, manufactured and distributed hundreds of pieces of equipment to centers worldwide in an effort to help further research toward a cure for diabetes.
