The Type 1 Diabetes Genetics Consortium (T1DGC) is an international collaborative effort supported by The National Institutes of Health and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
A number of genes are suspected of playing a role in the development of diabetes, and the study of several thousand families will properly identify these genes. DRI investigators have been pioneers in promoting large collaborative studies for the genetics of type 1 diabetes.
The DRI is now participating in the activities of the T1DGC, which includes worldwide recruitment of families with diabetes to study their DNA with the latest technology. Enrolling in the T1DGC can be done through the DRI by contacting Della Matheson at 305-243-3781 or contact us.
