When Andrea Rizzo was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 12, her parents Charlie and Marie began searching the world for answers.
They joined several diabetes organizations, where they met other families and attended fundraising events.
But the Rizzos were looking for something more, and for a group of people who passionately shared their mission – to cure diabetes.
They found that at the DRI.
