Making Every Dollar CountSteve Sonberg

Caryn Sonberg was just 18 months old when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, in 1978.

Her father, Steve, a lawyer, joined the Foundation and eventually became Chairman of the Board of Directors in the mid-80’s.

His priority: to make sure the Foundation operated responsibly and efficiently -- spending every available dollar where it belongs: on research.

It’s a priority that remains intact to this day.
