Douglas Gallagher

Douglas Gallagher co-founded Gallagher Financial Systems in 1985 with $14,000 borrowed from a 401k and grew it into a $30-million-a-year company with close to 200 employees.  The firm, which develops and sells mortgage loan software to banks and lenders, has offices in Miami as well as Nashville, TN.

Gallagher was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware and received his BA in psychology at the University of Delaware. He later moved to Florida where he pursued a Master degree in real estate. His education and background helped to launch the successful business he and his wife, Sue, own today.

The father of four boys, Gallagher’s life outside business is filled with family commitments, aspirations for civic service and philanthropic events that are special to him. Dedicated to the cause for more than 30 years, Gallagher became active with the DRI after his brother, Dennis, lost his battle with diabetes at the age of 28.  He has held the position of president of the Foundation’s board and is a member of the Governors’ Society.
