Marc S. Goodman is the president and co-founder of Kenmar Holdings, Inc. of Greenwich, Connecticut, a global money management company.
Prior to co-founding Kenmar in 1983, Mr. Goodman was a vice president and director of Pasternak, Baum, and Company, Inc., where he was responsible for business development outside the US, for investment of corporate retirement funds, and for the selection of personnel in the Vegetable Oils Division. He conducted extensive business in South America, Europe and the Far East. In September of 2005 he joined the board of directors for the Xenathol Corporation, a biotechnology-driven ethanol production company based in New York.
Mr. Goodman also serves as founder and chairman of the board of the Stacy Joy Goodman Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. The foundation was established in memory of his daughter who lost her struggle against the disease at the age of 17.
His affiliation with the DRI began in 1996 when he and his fellow board members established the Stacy Joy Goodman Chair in Diabetes at the Diabetes Research Institute, University of Miami. Currently, DRI Scientific Director Dr. Camillo Ricordi holds this distinguished title.
Mr. Goodman currently serves as chairman of the national board of directors of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
In addition to his dedication to funding diabetes research, Mr. Goodman sits on the New York Advisory Board of Youth EnterNet of America, Inc., a nonprofit organization working to improve the lives of America’s youth.
He is a graduate of the Bernard M. Baruch School of Business of the City University of New York, with a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. in Finance and Investments. He was awarded an Economics and Finance Department Fellowship from September 1969 through June 1971.
