Nathan J. Esformes

Nathan J. Esformes is the president and co-owner of Triple E Produce and Pacific Tomato Growers – produce companies with offices in both California and Florida. The companies specialize in high quality tomatoes under the logo, Sunripe, as well as other premium vegetables.

Esformes is active in the United Farm Workers of America and his company is a supporter of the Migrant Scholarship Fund at the University of South Florida, sponsoring an annual golf tournament and raising money to help the children of migrant workers attend college.

He and his family became entrenched in the diabetes community when his daughter, Elizabeth, was diagnosed with the devastating disease more than three decades ago.  In 2002, he and his wife, Annie, donated the Esformes Pavilion, a state-of-the-art learning center at the Institute in honor of his daughter Mary, who was an advocate for finding a cure for her sister’s disease before her untimely death.

Esformes has served on the DRIF’s board of directors for several years, is a Leadership Council member and founded the Committee of 500, a group of individuals who pledge $500 to the DRI annually until a cure is found.
