Steven Sonberg

Steven Sonberg is a partner at Holland & Knight, LLP, where he chairs the firm's Business Law Section. Mr. Sonberg’s areas of expertise include corporate and securities law with a particular emphasis on corporate mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance, and securities offerings. His practice includes representation of domestic and foreign clients in a variety of businesses and industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, real estate and transportation.  

An accomplished attorney, Mr. Sonberg has authored numerous published articles and is a frequent invited speaker on the topics of corporate law and securities. He is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" 2002 – 2006 editions and in "America's Leading Business Lawyers" in the 2004-2006 Chambers USA lawyers guide.  

He is a member of the board of several charitable and civic organizations, including the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami, and the Board of Directors of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, where he served as president from 1984 - 1986 and chairman from 1990 – 1996. He became involved with the organization after his daughter, Caryn, was diagnosed with diabetes at 18 months of age.  

Mr. Sonberg earned his B.S. in accounting from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business; his J.D. from University of Miami School of Law; and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.
