LUCKY SHOT SCORES A HOLE-IN-ONE!

As 128 players swung their final shots at the Diabetes Research Institute Golf Classic, held at El Caballero Country Club on April 23, one lucky player, Thomas Erdmann, a guest of Silver Sponsor Morton Capital Investments, hit that ever-elusive hole-in-one. This flawless last shot of the day scored Erdmann a brand new Mercedes-Benz E350, courtesy of Keyes Mercedes-Benz.
Topping off this thrilling moment, the event raised approximately $225,000 for the cure-focused work of the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI).
Following a fabulous day of golf, Celebrity Chair Frank Robinson, baseball legend and Hall of Famer, was joined by Emmy Award-winning journalist Roy Firestone, who led the dinner program. The afternoon’s excitement continued into the evening with silent and live auctions that offered a host of one-of-a-kind items. Bidding wars ensued for an exclusive lunch with USC Head Football Coach Pete Carroll and Athletic Director and Super Bowl hero Mike Garrett, plus a walk-on part for television’s “CSI,” and a private jaunt to golfer’s paradise Pebble Beach on a personal jet.
