SHAPE 2007 AWARDS BANQUET

April 14, 2007

At the SHAPE 2007 Awards Banquet, two exemplary high school groups presented Jill Shapiro Miller of the DRI Foundation with grants to underwrite equipment for the DRI through a program called SHAPE, Students Helping Achieve Philanthropic Excellence.

The program begins with a fundraising challenge, and if the students succeed, then SHAPE (Mark J. Gordon Foundation) awards them a matching grant, which they can allocate to their school or school district and community charities of their choice.

SHAPE of Miami Northwestern Senior High School allocated $4,000 to the DRI's tissue engineering program for a microcentrifuge.

SHAPE of Fort Lauderdale High School allocated $2,080 to the DRI's clinical islet transplantation program for a Horizon Rotor of a centrifuge.

The DRI is grateful to both of these groups for their support.
