Glen Cove Mayor Ralph V. Suozzi and Judge Richard McCord topped a list of guests at the fifth annual Cooking for a Cure dinner.  This unique event, hosted by the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF), raised $45,000, which included a generous $25,000 grant secured by Senator Carl Marcellino.  Jean Corrigan, registered nurse and certified diabetes educator and program director of the Pediatric Diabetes Program at Winthrop University Hospital, was honored in recognition of her outstanding support and commitment to those living with diabetes.

The dinner was sponsored in part by Page One Restaurant, and it featured tantalizing dishes that concluded with a delicious bread pudding dessert created by Co-owner and Chef Jeanine DiMenna.  Glen Cove's Mayor Ralph V. Suozzo presented a proclamation to the DRI on behalf of the office of State Senator Carl Marcellino. After Co-chairs Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and Mary Hall thanked guests for attending, the crowd eagerly awaited the names of winners of the chinese auction and raffle.
