CARNIVAL SCORES A “HAT TRICK”
Third time’s a charm for this eagerly anticipated event
The third annual Carnival for a Cure, held on Sunday, March 9th, at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, was an afternoon loaded with fun; featuring delicious food, great games, super prizes, and fabulous auction items enjoyed by nearly 1,000 children and parents.
Guests chomped down on sandwiches, sliders, and treats from Dean & DeLuca, CHEEZWHSE and Blockheads Burritos while dancing to the “way cool” tunes of DJ Scott Zuckerman. The children raced sports cars and dunked hoops; laughed with stiltwalkers, clowns, and balloon artists, and enjoyed the handiwork of face-painters and tattoo artists. At the end of a long and fulfilling afternoon, each child received a goody bag on the way out, while parents were given a commemorative event journal.
This year’s Carnival was chaired most ably by Vanessa Brahms and Joanne and Robert Schenker. Their hard work and that of a dedicated and active Carnival committee helped the event to raise in excess of $500,000 to support the work of the Diabetes Research Institute.
The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is grateful to the Chairs and to the committee, and to all of the wonderful sponsors, in-kind donors, exhibitors, contributors, journal advertisers, and attendees who made the third annual event such a super occasion. We’ll see you next year at Carnival (Four) a Cure!!!
