DIABETES RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOUNDATION EARNS HIGHEST RATING FROM CHARITY NAVIGATOR

Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities, has awarded a four-star rating to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, the highest rating possible from this respected charity oversight organization. The DRI Foundation has received the “Exceptional” grade for exceeding industry standards and outperforming most charities in its cause area.

Charity Navigator works to help charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing information on more than two thousand charities and by evaluating their financial health. It calculates each charity’s score based upon several broad criteria, including how much is spent per dollar raised, what percentage of funds goes to programs vs. administrative and fund-raising expenses, and the organization’s long-term financial health.  It then assigns a rating from one to four, with four being the best rating.

“We applaud your charitable efforts and congratulate you for receiving a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization excels, as compared to other charities in America, in the area of strong fiscal management,” stated Trent Stamp, executive director of Charity Navigator. “The Diabetes Research Institute’s supporters can be confident in your efforts to maximize the impact of their donations.”

“It is an honor to receive this distinction for our philanthropic efforts. Over the years, we have gone to great lengths to meet our fiscal responsibility, and we are pleased that Charity Navigator has recognized our diligence in adhering to strict financial accountability. We will strive to maintain the high standards set forth by Charity Navigator, and continue to earn the trust and respect of our donors,” said DRI Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Pearlman.
