Bruce Waller is the president of Gold Coast Properties and Development, LTD. and is an officer of a variety of real estate entitites. He is involved in private real estate development, operation and management. Prior to this, he served as an executive of a large private manufacturing and import/export conglomerate and as president of Décor, Inc.
Bruce joined the DRIF's Long Island Regional Board in 2008 and is actively involved in the annual Crystal Ball. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Congregation Tifereth Israel, Glen Cove, NY.
He and his wife, Long Island Board member Roberta Waller, have been dedicated supporters of the DRI ever since their daughter, Dara, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 20 years ago at age 8. At that time, Roberta’s father, Rowland Schaefer, who is a member of the DRI Foundation’s Honorary Board and a Visionary of the organization, ensured them that the DRI was the best hope for a cure. The DRI building at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is named in honor of Roberta’s parents, Rowland and Sylvia Schaefer.
Bruce and Roberta reside in Upper Brookville, NY, and also have two sons, Andrew and Skylor.
