"The only sure way to not find a cure is to abandon the search for a cure."
- Camillo Ricordi, M.D., DRI Scientific Director
Curing diabetes has been and will continue to be our singular goal. For every person who struggles to manage this disease, for every parent who worries day and night, for every family balancing the difficult dynamics, there is a Reason to Believe in a cure.
Through our focused, passionate commitment and cutting-edge research excellence, we have made significant progress. We've already shown that insulin independence can be achieved through islet transplantation and dramatically changed the lives of our study patients, some of whom have been insulin-free for more than six years. Our research will continue until we cure everyone living with diabetes.
Thanks to the support of the DRI Foundation - support from you and people like you - our DRI scientists, together with their collaborators worldwide, are working aggressively to shrink the timeline for reaching this goal. Tomorrow is not soon enough. We are making progress, we are seeing results and there is a Reason to Believe in a cure.
