Marge Kleiman Mintz
Marge Kleiman Mintz was among the parents who helped start the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation in the early 1970s.
Her son, Gary, then 19, was losing his vision because of diabetes. Marge and husband, Marty, devoted their lives to raising research dollars to help cure diabetes.
Today, Gary is the recipient of a successful islet transplant.
