Sheldon L. Singer is the president of S.L. Singer and Associates, Inc., an insurance and financial planning company in South Florida. Along with his wife, Barbara, Singer was one of the original five founding families of the DRI Foundation.
In addition to serving as the first chairman of the board for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF), he has held the position of treasurer and continues to serve on the national board, its finance committee, and the Florida regional board’s major gifts committee. He is a Grand Founder of the organization. Singer was also on the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation’s first board of directors when Miami was one of its original two chapters.
Born and raised in New York, he moved to Florida more than 40 years ago as a children’s wear buyer. Twenty-five years ago, he changed careers and now does insurance and financial planning. A proud father, he is an even prouder grandfather to his five grandchildren.
