Robert A. Pearlman is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF). He joined the organization in 1993 as Executive Vice President, and served in this role until 2003, when he was elected to his current position by the national board of directors.
During his tenure, the organization has enjoyed exponential growth and revenues have increased more than twenty-fold. Mr. Pearlman works closely with board and staff members to ensure that the Foundation’s goals are met and/or surpassed, in support of the cure-focused work of the Diabetes Research Institute.
Working within the fundraising arena for more than 35 years, Mr. Pearlman has served in high-level positions for various organizations both nationally and internationally.
Prior to joining the DRIF, he held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Professional Officer of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, a not-for-profit organization that provides support for The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel’s foremost center of higher education and research.
During his nine-year stint, annual revenues at AFHU increased from $21 million to more than $40 million.
Mr. Pearlman also served in the capacity of Assistant Vice President for Major Gifts and Associate National Campaign Director of United Jewish Appeal, and held the position of Executive Director at Jewish Federation of South Broward County, Florida.
Mr. Pearlman is married to Penny, and has two children.
