Diabetes Management Classes

One of the most challenging parts of diabetes management is the fact that patients have to make so many decisions -- every day -- on their own. How many carbohydrates are in this meal? How much insulin should I take? What adjustments do I need to make?

At the Kosow Diabetes Treatment Center, patients learn how to make these decisions -- with knowledge and confidence. They leave our classes feeling empowered, and able to:

• Improve their diabetes management

• Self-manage their individual diabetes treatment plan and lifestyle 

• Become leaders of their own health care team 

• Increase flexibility in their everyday lives   

We offer a variety of individual and group diabetes education programs, taught by an expert team of certified diabetes educators, nutrition specialists and physicians. 

Our classes are held at the Diabetes Research Institute on the first floor in The Esformes Family Pavilion. Each month, sixteen comprehensive diabetes classes are held in English and in Spanish and offered to patients and families with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
