AIFAC 2017

The Tenth Annual All in for a Cure Texas Hold ‘em poker event to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute took place on Thursday, November 2nd, at The Grand Havana Room in midtown Manhattan.  More than 150 attendees enjoyed fine wines, spirits and cigars, while taking in breathtaking views of Manhattan and playing lively hands of poker. The evening was a great success, raising more than $200,000 for the cure-focused work of the Diabetes Research Institute. Over the past decade, the event has grossed well over $2 million.

Co-chairs Samantha Shanken Baker, Jordan Dickstein, Troy Gregory, Isaac Khafif, Greg Rosenberg and Ricardo Salmon filled the room with colleagues, friends, and business associates. Congratulations to this year’s first-place finisher, Omer Gundogdu, and to second-place contender, Michael Casty.

Something new was added to the mix this year:  illusionist Chris Dare delighted guests with his special brand of magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship.

Warmest thanks to lead sponsors Danielle & Troy Gregory and Eric Aroesty & Drew Katz; to Marc Taub and Palm Bay International for wines and spirits; to Cigar Aficionado, and to all of the wonderful event sponsors and supporters who made the evening enjoyable and memorable.
