Diane Beber is a Virtuoso travel specialist with PROTRAVEL INTERNATIONAL/DORAL, a division of TravelLeaders Group, in Miami, Fl. She specializes in luxury cruises, tours, safaris, along with special business and first class air and corporate travel management is another division which requires special handling.
A South Florida native, she became involved in the original group that evolved to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF), when her son, Hugh, developed diabetes more than 42 years ago at the age of eight. Diane is a longtime member of the National and Florida Board of Directors and volunteers on several fundraising event committees.
Diane is also involved in dog/cat rescue and along with her husband have personally rescued 15 dogs and cats. One cat and one dog became diabetic and took two injections daily, prolonging their lives for many years. Diane is also a member of a dog rescue organization, Born Free and the Humane Society.
Diane and her husband Dr Bernard "Bud" Beber have 4 adult children and 9 grandchildren, one of whom was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2004.
