18th Annual A Gift of Love...A Gift of Hope Luncheon & Card Party

The ladies of the Palm Beach Auxiliary came ready to shop, lunch and play for a great cause at the sold-out A Gift of Love…A Gift of Hope luncheon and card party at the Polo Club of Boca Raton Monday, February 26, 2018. Led by philanthropists and Chairwomen Renee Aronin, Natalie Olstein and Gloria Katz – all whom have had a loved one personally affected by type 1 diabetes – the luncheon passed more than $1-million raised to date for the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI)’s work to cure the disease.

After attendees browsed and purchased some of the latest fashions from several local boutique vendors, the chairwomen kicked off the program by thanking guests for their tremendous support over the years. They then welcomed to the stage Randi Fibus-Caster, a Boca-based DRI supporter who has lived with type 1 diabetes for more than 50 years but has been insulin free since receiving an islet cell transplant at the DRI years ago.

After her heartwarming and hopeful personal account, guests were treated to a stellar two song performance by 12-year-old local singer Emily Kaufman – who also has type 1 diabetes. After her powerhouse performance, more than 55 raffle winners were called and received great prizes, ranging from gift certificates to paintings and more. All items were generously donated by vendors, sponsors and supporters.

The ladies then socialized over coffee, a dessert buffet and various card and table games including Scrabble, Canasta, and Mah Jong.

Keep up with our progress toward a cure & more
