Lory Gonzalez, ARNP, CDE is a Nurse Educator for Education Services at the Diabetes Research Institute.
Ms. Gonzalez received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1995 and her Master of Science degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner in 1998 from Barry University, Miami. She is also a certified pump trainer for several insulin pumps.
With over fourteen years of experience within the diabetes education field, Ms. Gonzalez has extensive experience providing education in both English and Spanish in varied education settings such as inpatient hospital settings and outpatient comprehensive education clinics. Ms. Gonzalez has designed and implemented a diabetes education program at Camillus Health Concern Clinic in Miami. She also was the case manager for a wellness program implemented by Baptist Hospital, targeting employees with a pre-disposition for developing Diabetes or had Diabetes to assist them in making healthy lasting changes in their lifestyle.
Lory is a member of the Florida Nurses Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the Greater Miami Association of Diabetes Educator, and the Florida Alliance for Diabetes Prevention and Care Leadership Council.
