Sam Talbot

The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) will be hosting their Inaugural Virtual Cooking Engagement Event,
C3 - Collaborate, Cook, Cure! We are very excited for this virtual event which will be hosted by celebrity Chef Sam Talbot, a type 1 diabetic himself, who will be sharing his personal story and giving cooking tips and techniques for all ages.

Join us from the comfort of your own home for an interactive evening of cooking and fun! This event is designed for you to be able to follow Chef Sam along from your own kitchen as he teaches how to make a diabetic-friendly dish. You will also have the chance to ask Chef Sam any of your cooking questions as well as chat with Dr. Mitra Zehtab, COO of DRI about recent updates from the DRI. Additionally, there will be a silent auction full of exciting items and we will be sharing diabetic conscious appetizers, desserts & drink recipes on the event site too!

What to expect
The event will be taking place on the platform Cadence. This user-friendly platform allows guests to interact with one another in social rooms, participate on a live feed page, and build out your personal profile to your liking. The event will feature a "Crazy Apron" contest so get ready to show off your favorite cooking apparel by posting a picture in the event live feed! If you don't have a funky apron to post, feel free to share your own favorite diabetic-friendly recipe in the feed.

This event has two ticket options, one where you shop for yourself and one where we will send the ingredients to you. Both packages include the same access to the event site and features. Shortly after purchasing your tickets you will receive an email that outlines the evening recipe, ingredients, and next steps to accessing the event site. We want to make sure to accommodate everyone who would like to join!

Not sure if you can commit to cooking dinner on January 28th?
Guests can purchase our $100 ticket option and attend the event even if they do not want to cook along. Once the event concludes we will send out a recording of Chef Sam’s tutorial for you to hold onto and follow along another time.

Any donation made over $100 will receive Chef Sam Talbots cookbook “The Sweet Life: Diabetes Without Boundaries”.

Grab your aprons and get ready to cook for a cure!
