Nutrition Classes

The Education Services department offers a number of courses to help participants learn about nutrition.

Healthy Me: A Lifestyle Program
This new program helps participants learn about the fundamentals of nutrition, along with practical tools such as a meal plan.  It also offers an ongoing series with a different topic each month.

A Trip to the Supermarket 
Offered in Spanish, this culturally sensitive program provides our community with the most up-to-date information about healthy eating principles. 

Patients with type 2 diabetes can learn about effective diabetes management, diet and exercise plans.
Patients can learn about effective nutrition and exercise plans.

Does insurance cover these classes?
  • Most diabetes education classes are covered by insurance carriers contracted with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. To see if your insurance carrier covers this service, or for more information on billing, please call 305-243-3696.
