2016 Empire Ball
The 33rd Annual Empire Ball, presented by the Real Estate Division of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, took place on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at the Grand Hyatt New York.  Nearly 1000 attendees enjoyed a wonderful evening as they mingled, dined, danced, and paid homage to the evening's honorees. 

#BeyondBasel
More than 250 people from across South Florida attended an exclusive Beyond Basel cocktail party and art exhibit at the Soho Beach House this Saturday during Miami's Art Basel. This invite-only event benfitted leading type 1 diabetes organizations the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation and Beyond Type 1.

Guests enjoyed table games and boutique shopping at this first-time event at the Muttontown Country Club in East Norwich, Long Island on November 15.  

All In for a Cure
The Ninth annual Texas Hold ‘em poker event attracted more than 200 attendees, who enjoyed fine wines, spirits and cigars while taking in breathtaking views of Manhattan and playing lively hands of poker. The evening was a great success, raising more than $300,000 for the DRI.

Gold Coast Concours/Bimmerstock

Thousands got a closer look inside the engines and interiors of some of the world’s most exotic cars during the 8th annual Gold Coast Concours/Bimmerstock in Glen Cove, NY.  This annual event raised more than $62,000 to support the Diabetes Research Institute.

Ride for the DRI

Cycling enthusiasts raised $22,000 to help find a cure for diabetes during a recent Ride for the DRI, when a dedicated team of 35 bike riders participated in the Massapequa Park Bicycle Club Tour of the Hamptons.

Donaldson Organization Golf Outing
The Sixth Annual Donaldson Organization Golf Outing on September 26th at the famed Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, was a beautiful day in every way. A grand day of golf were enjoyed by nearly 300 golfers. Over $700,000 was raised for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation

5th Annual Haute Tea
From hats to heels guests dazzled at the garden-themed 5th Annual Haute Tea luncheon presented by The Geduld Family - which was held in honor of Miami Philanthropist Jillian Posner at the St. Regis Bal harbour Resort Thursday, September 8, 2016. Nearly 200 women gathered at this annual fun afternoon of fashion, philanthropy and tea.

Thanks to all the hard work of the committee and support of generous donors, this year’s event was sold out and more than $169,000 was raised for research at the DRI.

The Crystal Ball
An enchanting evening, the Crystal Ball, held at the beautiful Garden City Hotel on Saturday, May 14, paid tribute to three exceptional young women, Dara Melnick, Edra Tepper and Maggie Luebs and raised more than $400,000 for diabetes research at the DRI.

33rd Annual Don Strock Diabetes Golf Classic
It was another great team effort at the Don Strock Diabetes Golf Classic led by event hosts former Miami Dolphins Quarterback Don Strock and The Produce Connection President Bruce Fishbein at the Miccosukee Golf & Country Club in Miami on Wednesday, May 11th.

 

DREAMS in the City
The 11th Anniversary Dreams in the city took place on Thursday, May 5th at the stunning Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York City.  Susan Weiner, MS, RDN, CDE,CDN, received the Foundation’s “Dare to Dream” award.  The evening’s festivities, which included a luxe silent auction and a fundraising appeal lead by emcee Chris Wragge of CBS 2 News. Over the last 11 years, DREAMS in the City has raised more than 6.5 million dollars for the DRI.

Out of the Kitchen
Some of the most popular chefs from across South Florida treated guests to the best seat in the house and helped raise more than $180,000 at the 3rd annual Out of the Kitchen to benefit the cure-focused work of the DRI.

Kids' Carnival for a Cure
At the Kids' Carnival for a Cure, Pro athletes inspire and empower kids at Westbury event to defeat diabetes. The fun-filled family day raised nearly $100,000 toward a cure.

 

The DRI Walk for Diabetes & Family Fun Day
Thousands of people from across South Florida laced up their sneakers to help for a cure for diabetes at the 6th Annual DRI Walk for Diabetes & Family Fun Day, presented by Walgreens earlier this month at Miami's Marlins Park. Through the support of community members in attendance, family teams, corporate teams, sponsors and volunteers, more than $250,000 was raised for the cure-focused work of the DRI.

17th Annual A Gift of Love...A Gift of Hope Luncheon
The ladies of the Palm Beach Auxiliary came ready to play and to support the work of the DRI at the sold-out 17th Annual A Gift of Love...A Gift of Hope luncheon and card party at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton on Monday, February 22, 2016.

 

42nd Annual Love & Hope Ball's Fantasy at the Fontainebleau
It was an evening of love and hope in Miami Beach on Saturday, February 6th at the 42nd annual gala - which in combination with the Preview Party, has helped raise nearly $51 million to date for the Diabetes Research Institute.
