Shelley Nicholls, PPCNP-BC, APRN, DNP, CDE, CPN, is a Nurse Educator for Education Services at the Diabetes Research Institute. Ms. Nicholls received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2009 and her Master of Science degree in nursing as a pediatric nurse practitioner in 2017 from Florida International University, Miami. She obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in December of 2018.

With over six years of experience within the diabetes education field, Ms. Nicholls has extensive experience providing education in varied education settings such as inpatient hospital settings and outpatient clinics. Ms. Nicholls has designed and implemented a pediatric Type 1 Diabetes education booklet for newly diagnosed families. She assisted in developing a Family Mentorship Program at Broward Health Hospital.

Ms. Nicholls is a member of the Florida Nurses Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the American Diabetes Association, Pediatric Endocrine Nursing Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
