>>Dr. Ricordi's movie: Human Islet Isolation

>>How are islets isolated?

>>How is an islet transplant done?

Happy Thursday! Dr. Ricordi recently shared an animated movie of the islet isolation and infusion process - with real video at the end. We thought you'd like to see it and learn more about the process that he invented. We've also provided additional links to video that give further detail for the isolation process and how clinical islet transplants have been done. As we've mentioned before and will continue to do, we are developing new approaches to improve islet replacement strategies - to eliminate the use of anti-rejection drugs and promote the long-term function of islet cells.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We hope you're enjoying your summer!
